Li Chung (Sandi) Pei

 

Sandi Pei is an architect in New York.

Following his graduation from the HGSD, Sandi joined I. M. Pei & Partners, where he worked until establishing his own firm, PEI Architects (formerly Pei Partnership Architects) in 1992. Based in New York City, his international practice consists primarily of large scale institutional, commercial, and educational facilities. His list of projects include the MIT Arts + Media Technology Facilities (Cambridge, 1984), the Creative Artists Agency Headquarters (Los Angeles, 1987), the Bank of China Tower (Hong Kong, 1989), The Macao Science Center (Macao, 2009), The Centurion Condominium (New York, 2009), The House of Dancing Water Theater (Macao, 2014), and 2221 Yonge St. Condominium Tower (Toronto, 2021). Beyond his public service contributions to the profession, Sandi enjoys a sustaining interest in the arts. In addition to serving on Christie’s Advisory Board, he is also vice president of the International Council of the Museum of Modern Art. The subject of his presentation is the Suzhou Museum (2006), designed in collaboration with his father and constructed in the ancestral home of the Pei Family.
