50th Reunion Schedule

Plans for our gala 50th are just about set!

This is what the week will look like.

 

(Note: Free parking will be available at the Everett Street Garage, 10 Everett St.)

Tuesday, May 31

  • 3–5 pm: Open time for gatherings and tours
  • 4–10 pm: Registration at reunion headquarters (Cabot Library, Science Center)
  • 6–10 pm: Welcome Reception with casual buffet supper (Barker Center, the former Freshman Union)

Wednesday, June 1

  • 8 am–8 pm: Registration at reunion headquarters (Cabot Library, Science Center)
  • 7:30–9:30 am: Breakfast at Annenberg (Mem Hall)
  • 10–11:30 am: Class Survey presentation (Sanders Theatre). This session will be livestreamed here!
  • 12–1:30 pm: Lunch at Annenberg
  • 1:45–3 pm: Panel #1: "Reporter's Notebook: Adventures in Journalism" (Sanders Theatre)
  • 3 pm: Coffee break
  • 3:30–4:45 pm: Panel #2: "Aging, Retirement, and Legacy: The View from Here" (Sanders Theatre)
  • 6–7:45 pm: Dinner under the big tent (Science Center Plaza)
  • 8–9:30 pm: Evening Program, "A Little Song, a Little Dance, a Little Seltzer Down Your Pants: A Multimedia Celebration of '72 in the Performing Arts" (Sanders Theatre)
  • 9:30–11 pm: Dessert under the big tent (Science Center Plaza)

Thursday, June 2

  • 8 am–8 pm: Registration at reunion headquarters (Cabot Library, Science Center)
  • 7:30–9 am: Breakfast at Annenberg
  • 9–10:30 am: Panel #3: "Challenges in Higher Education: A Conversation" (Sanders Theatre)
  • 10:30 am: Coffee break
  • 11–12:15 pm: Panel #4: "Protesting and Participating over the Last 50 Years" (Sanders Theatre)
  • 12:15–1:45 pm: Lunch at Annenberg
  • 2–3 pm: Memorial Service (Mem Church). This session will be livestreamed here.
  • 3:15 pm: Class Photo on Widener steps
  • 6:30–10:30 pm: Dinner-dance under the big tent (Science Center Plaza). Festive attire

Friday, June 3

  • 7:30–9:30 am: Breakfast at Annenberg
  • 10–11:30 am: Open time for gatherings and tours
  • 10–11:30 am: Radcliffe women-only gathering (Boylston Hall)
  • 12–1:30 pm: University-wide Alumni Spread Luncheon (Old Yard)
  • 1:30–2 pm: Alumni Procession, led by the chief marshal 
  • 2:15–4 pm: Harvard Alumni Day program, featuring special guest speaker (two-time US poet laureate Tracy K. Smith '94) ( Tercentenary Theatre)
  • 4 pm on: Informal gathering of the class with refreshments (Phillips Brooks House)

Saturday, June 4 [optional, for those staying Friday night]

  • 8 am–noon: Informal farewell breakfast (in self-organized groups, either takeout or at local eateries; PBH will again be available as a perch for those getting takeout, and there will be some space for stashing luggage)
